Oldboy Remake?
Listen - I don’t like people telling me what to do. So when one of my former co-workers told me to watch the movie “Oldboy”, I feigned interest and put the request in the proverbial Recycling Bin of my To-Do list. But eventually I gave in because I grew tired of hearing how “great” it was. I figured I would spend the two hours watching it just to make sufficient counter-points.
But the movie was good and it was certainly not your average action film. It had tons of twists and turns, it was very gory, and it had parts that were certainly mentally disturbing. (It is said a recent murderer we’d all recognize acted on scenes from this movie.)
Steven “I lost my fastball” Spielberg is looking to remake the film with WIll “Welcome to earth” Smith. They are trying to sign the same putz writer who wrote the miserable films, Poseidon, The Cell, and I Am Legend. Now I don’t want to tell you what to do, but before this debacle remake is in the works, please check out the original.
